Gifts of grace

This morning I woke up to find snow covering our trees, streets, and rooftops. It was beautiful. Winter and snow are a welcome sight for all of us. To me, it's a reminder of God's grace. We don't deserve the beauty of his grace which gently and quietly falls when we sometimes least expect it. The beauty of the snow is like a welcomed gift. To my children as well.

Last night we were watching The Polar Express and I quietly opened the blinds downstairs and one by one they saw the snow. Sarah squealed, and Noah's eyes got big and his mouth just hung open before he got up and started dancing around. It was so cute! Right now, my two cute boys who aren't so little anymore are all bundled up and playing the snow together. Sliding down hills and rolling around with each other. Being boys. What a wonderful day! I sit here and smile thinking of how much joy God continually brings to me. And for the grace that I don't deserve. Thank you Lord for these gifts of grace.
